Jamie headley, broker/certified residential appraiser
I grew up in Wharton, TX, not too far from the Houston area, but when you're from a small town, you kind of live a part of your life in the Big City out of necessity. So I've always known Houston and it's back roads like the back of my hand. Since college, my husband David and I have lived in Midtown, then Pearland, and now Manvel with our twin girls. Before I was in real estate sales, I was a residential appraiser and worked in Harris, Fort Bend, Brazoria, Montgomery, and Galveston Counties. My husband jokes that when I would meet people and ask "What part of town do you live in?", I really meant, "What neighborhood?" and then, "What street?", because I practically knew them all. Besides real estate, these days I find myself deeply involved with Alvin Independent School District, competitive gymnastics, club volleyball, and I try to keep up to date with City affairs.
EXPERIENCE
For twenty three years I have been in real estate. Selling it is much better suited for my personality than appraising, but it's not because I'm sales-y. I moved to this side of real estate because I just wanted to help people not make a mistake in buying property. Sometimes I feel more like a counselor, and I talk people out of properties all the time, both commercial and residential, but isn't that what we're here for? To offer our opinion and guide, based on our expertise? Meaning: experience + intuition + industry/market/local knowledge. I didn't switch gears to "make it big", I switched so I could be a helper.
Because of my appraisal background, I sometimes come from a different place than some real estate salespeople. I believe that raw data is the jumping off point to which everything else grows from and revolves around. Data isn't sexy talk, but it's what gets properties sold when applied properly and what is indisputable in negotiation.
Whether you’re buying or selling a home, land, or commercial property, I can help you price property, negotiate deals, qualify buyers, acquire financing, find vendors, and more.

HAR.com
If you are searching for residential property or land in the Greater Houston Area, your first and only source should be HAR.com. It is the only MLS that is always up to date. Sites like Zillow and Trulia pull data from their only source...HAR.com, but many times, those updates are delayed (sometimes by days) and information has been known to transfer over incorrectly. So many times, clients send over a listing from Zillow that they love only to find out that it is no longer available. So sad. Save yourself the heartache and employ HAR.com.
Better yet, sign up for MyHomeSearch on the link below and you will have access to extra "Premium" content that is not available anywhere else! It's pretty cool and makes you feel like you've uncovered a big secret world.
